Another item mentioned in the Goals & Objectives survey is making chapter websites easier to maintain.

What would make site maintenance easier for your chapter?

Below are some ideas. Please comment on these and share other ideas!

 - Create a maintenance setup that allows multiple volunteers update a specific portion of the website (e.g. Neighborhood Group leaders can update their own Neighborhood Group information, newsletter volunteer can add newsletters, membership chair can manage member directory and member benefits page) with a website administrator or team that oversees the overall website.

- Make tutorials easy to access/find for volunteers.

- Use front-end, form-based data entry whenever possible (e.g. identify common information all Neighborhood Groups share and create a form to collect the information. Updates would then be made via a form).

- Explore if National would allow content to be pushed from ASG.org to chapter sites with a link back to ASG.org and/or create a mechanism to share content across chapter platform websites with links back to the chapter providing the content (would also help with search engine optimization and would increase awareness of chapter offerings and member talents).

- Use templates and common styles so updates can be made in one place (e.g. change header color or size once and will auto update across the website).

- Create a system to automatically hide/remove event or other time sensitive information from the website once a date has passed.

- Implement link checker on websites so someone is notified when a link is no longer working.
