Current Website Profile and Sitemap Discussion

Here’s what my initial thought are. I’m sure the will evolve over time.

Public viewing of the website:

• calendar (both chapter and NG/SIG)
• contact info
• link to join via national
• Info on NGs and SIGs

Members Only Area

• Password Protected
• Event Registration 
• Link to repository of sewing resources, possibly residing on Google Drive
• Link to calendar (both chapter and NG/SIG)
• Directory of chapter members 

What else???

i would also like to see any photos sprinkles throughout the website rather than in a single photo gallery.

i also think that younger members should be in as many photos as possible.

Here are my notes for the website members and non-members.

• We do offer non-members rates for the Retreat and possibly classes (in the future) Not sure how to do the workaround but we currently offer those options.
• It may be good to have a link to asg.org so potential members can see what free sewing training they get with their membership.
• Could we have a Questions area connected to the Contact Information. Sharing a few sentences detailing what certain areas are with the appropriate contact email is helpful. For example: Having problems purchasing your membership (or renewing your membership?) then contact membership@nash-asg.org.  Or ... giving instructions on recurring issues (There are some) may be a nice touch.
• Even though Vandy Sews is not under our umbrella, we do support it. Maybe a tab for charitable projects and who to contact to help with. Under that we can list the veterans blanket project, dog pillows, Christmas Stockings and Vandy Sews with their link.

I also think pictures of projects are important, too. I bet we can get a picture of Joy with her Dino dress. I will reach out to her for you. Also, Mara and her ball gown. Katherine and her pajamas. 

I believe that all the websites could benefit from a similar area on ASG Memberships. What ASG offers, two free activities for free before joining, free training resources on the asg.org website, Bi-Annual online training from National, etc. Coming up with some concise and consistent promotional material would be helpful to all chapters.

Could we have a fundraising tab. We could:

• Link to the PayPal Donations link
• We could post current items for sale. For Example, we will be getting a Viking sewing machine and a Viking embroidery unit complete with hoops, feet and owner manuals. 

Lately we have been getting sewing requests like the masks and athleisure sewing. Maybe an area for members to view these opportunities? After Katherine Stephen completed the masks for that sewing request and in addition to what Katherine was paid, the requester donated $'s to our chapter as a thank you.
